Gender Reveal

A gender reveal party is built entirely around one moment — so the supplies need to support the reveal itself first, and the surrounding decor second. The most popular reveal methods are confetti poppers (guests each hold one and pop simultaneously), a large balloon filled with pink or blue confetti that the parents pop, or a box that releases balloons in the reveal colour when opened. All of these are available at Party Boutiques and can be prepared ahead of time to keep the colour hidden until the moment.

The surrounding decor typically uses a pink-and-blue palette to signal the theme without giving away the result — coordinated balloons in both colours, tableware that mixes pink and blue, and a 'He or She?' or 'What Will It Be?' banner. Some families prefer a more neutral approach with a soft palette and a single reveal element. Both work, though the pink-and-blue setup creates a clearer visual story for photos and video.

One practical note: if you're using a confetti reveal method, do it outdoors or in a venue where cleanup is manageable. Confetti is one of the hardest things to remove from carpeted spaces. Balloon-based reveals work better indoors since the mess is contained to the single balloon.
