Party Boutiques Guide
A well-constructed balloon bouquet is more than a handful of helium balloons tied together — it's a layered arrangement that combines different balloon types, sizes, and finishes to create a cohesive display that works as a table centrepiece, a gift delivery, or a decorative accent at an event entrance. The best bouquets have visual hierarchy: a feature balloon at the top (typically a large foil shape or number), supporting mid-height foil accents, and a latex cluster at the base to add volume and texture.
For table centrepieces, a 5–7 balloon bouquet is typically the right scale — large enough to be noticed, proportionate enough not to block sightlines across the table. For entrance displays or statement pieces, scale up to 10–15 balloons and anchor the arrangement with a weighted base. When mixing foil and latex in the same bouquet, keep them within the same colour family — a metallic gold foil paired with gold-tone and cream latex reads as intentional; random colour mixing reads as leftover stock.
At Party Boutiques, we stock all the components to build custom bouquets yourself: balloon clips, curling ribbon in matching metallics, weighted cups, and a full range of latex and foil balloons. If you'd prefer to have a bouquet assembled for you, our team at 7724 Yonge St in Thornhill can build to your colour spec. Call ahead to discuss.
Feature balloon at the top, foil accents in the middle, latex cluster at the base. This tiered structure gives the bouquet depth and makes it look designed.
A centrepiece should be visible but not obstruct eye contact across the table. For a standard 6-person round table, a 60–70cm tall bouquet is the right proportion.
Curling ribbon between the weight and the balloon bunch adds movement and hides the utilitarian look of plain balloon knots. Use metallic ribbon that matches your foil.
For balloon bouquets that need to travel, use a weighted box base and separate each balloon with enough ribbon slack to prevent friction popping during transport.
